KENYA’S SOCIALITE AND PSYCHOLOGIST

The much anticipated eighth edition of BIG BROTHER AFRICA finally kicked off on Sunday and 28 entrants from 14 countries in Africa were unveiled with each country being represented by two participants.

Kenyans were glued on their screens to find out who will be representing them on the popular African magic show and as it had been earlier speculated ‘socialite’ Huddah Monroe and psychology graduate Annabel Mbaru were unveiled as the Kenyan housemates.

WILL WE SEE MORE OF MS MONROE? (OR HAVE WE SEEN ENOUGH ALREADY?)

Unlike in the past Big Brother seasons were Kenyans were excited about their representatives in the ‘house’, this time round there was an array of mixed feelings especially towards Huddah Monroe.

To her proponents, the controversial socialite famed for herself published nude pictures, has the right attitude and drama that can keep the game going for her, getting her close to the $300,000 (Sh25.5 million) prize money but to her opponents, judging from the little they have seen of Huddah since Sunday, “her game is low” and as they say in Swahili “game yake iko down”. Most people feel like she is not being as social as she is supposed to be and is all but invisible in the house.

Annabel Mbaru on the other end feels like the only hope Kenya has as she seems to have a desirable personality despite her being a new face in the Kenyan showbiz world.

TRENDY SOCIALITE TRENDING

Since she set base in the house, the internet has been abuzz with Huddah Monroe with her name trending on Twitter and Facebook.

Here are some of the opinions fans gave on social media;

Been watching BBA for over an Hour now and am yet to see that ka funny faced Huddah. She is camera shy and very anti social.

Wtf did she go to the bloody house for??

At least Annabel is friendly and a bit visible.

Huddah should just be evicted arudi home.

She myt just be back on time for Blankets and wine!!

Major blackout in several parts of the country. Kenya Power’s main generator suffers a stroke on learning that Huddah is 21!

“Huddah is just a creation of the media”

I expected to see much from her but I think she is coming home soon

Huddah is a drama queen and she is social. That is what you need to survive in BBA. Go team Huddah

“HUDDAH MIGHT JUST BE BACK IN TIME FOR BLANKETS AND WINE”

Following yesterdays nomination eviction which means one housemate will be going home on Sunday, Huddah leads with 7 votes. Kenyans can, however, save Huddah from the possible eviction by voting for her. To vote send a text with word ‘Huddah’ to 22626.

Alternatively, you can vote online on Note that you can vote as many times as you wish. By voting you also stand a chance to win a DStv Walka or a HD-PVR decoder.

In the event that Huddah doesn’t survive the possible eviction, as a fan posted on Facebook, she might just be home in time for the popular outdoor event Blankets And Wine.

WILL PATRIOTIC KENYANS BACK HUDDAH OR ANNABEL IN ‘THE CHASE’?

Well, the criticism notwithstanding, one thing that we can be certain about is the Kenyan patriotic spirit once they feel that a compatriot deserves it. We saw Kenya come together in support of

Prezzo last year when he lifted the Kenyan flag high and for the first time in the history of BBA, a Kenyan made it to the top two finalists, missing the grand prize by a whisker.

BBA is irrefutably the biggest reality show in Africa produced by Endermol South Africa. This 8th edition has been dramatically dubbed “THE CHASE” with the organizers promising the audience an entertaining show, full of twists and thrills.

“This season audiences can expect a show encompassing suspense, emotions, drama, fun, excitement and quite possibly, as we have seen in previous seasons, a little romance” M-Net Africa Managing Director, Biola Alabi said

For 91 days Africa biggest reality series will be screened live 24/7 on DStv channels 197 and 198 while GOtv audiences will be able to see highlights.

Let the game or rather the chase begin!
