In a glamorous and glitzy event on Sunday at the Kenyatta International Conference Center (KICC), winners of the biggest gospel awards in Kenya (Groove Awards) were recognized for their talent.

The much celebrated gospel icon, Peter Kaberere, whose sudden demise two months ago came as a big shock to fans and the industry, was awarded The Lifetime Achievement Award, which was received by his wife Njeri kaberere.

Sarah K emerged the biggest winner of the day after she received three awards as Female Artist Of The Year and Song Writer Of The Year with her song, Hakuna Silaha, which was also voted as the Best Worship Song Of The Year.

Kevin Bahati won the Best Male Artiste award after the great popularity of his releases such as Machos and Barua.

The Song of the Year Award went to newcomer Pitson for his song Lingala Ya Yesu.
