NIGERIA 1-0 BOSNIA

A first half goal from Peter Odemwingie was enough for Nigeria to take the three points and end Bosnia’s hope of making it to the knockout stages. The Stoke City striker scored the only goal in the 29th minute and despite a number of chances, Edin, the Manchester City forward couldn’t force an equaliser for his country.

Now the Super Eagles will face Argentina in their last group game that will determine if they will go through the next stage.

MESSI SAVES THE DAY

ARGENTINA 1-0 IRAN

Messi’s stoppage time goal broke the deadlock to see a well organized Iran defense broken.  Iran came into the game aware of the attacking flair and technical prowess that Argentina possess, thus set to stifle the middle of the park.

The strategy worked well in their favour and the team was able to hold the South Americans to a goalless draw for over 90mins, until a brilliant shot from Messi 22 yards away from the goal found the back of the net at the 92nd minute.

Ghana then went in front in the 63rd minute when Asamoah Gyan was given a through pass by Muntariti which he sent past the Bayern Munich keeper. Germany’s coach Joachim Loew brought in veteran goal poacher Miroslav Kloser in the 69th minute which paid off as the 33 year old tapped in the equalizer in the 71st minute to deny Ghana the three points.
