CORD says that Uhuru ‘fixed’ Ruto in ICC court case

The political game between Jubilee and Cord intensified yesterday after the latter announced that it was president Uhuru who fixed his deputy William Ruto in the ICC.

A section of Cord leaders, who were speaking at a press conference, condemned Jubilee legislators and particularly Moses Kuria for linking their party leader Raila Odinga to the saga.

They condemned the allegations made by Gatundu MP Moses Kuria about fixing Ruto.

“Moses Kuria was nobody then and he’s a nobody now to fix William Ruto. You can fool people sometimes but you can’t fool them all the time. Kuria was an employee of Uhuru and there is nothing an employee does in the course of employment that is not done for his employer, so whatever the consequence in the spirit of those who died in Naivasha and across the nation, we want Uhuru to come out and say why he fixed William Ruto,”said Homabay MP Peter Kaluma.

“As Cord we will treat everything meted upon our party leader with the contempt it deserved,” said Mbita MP Millie Odhiambo.

Raila Odinga on Tuesday said there was no way he or his ODM party would have fixed a top member and negotiator of the party during the disputed 2007 General Election.

He said Ruto was one of the Pentagon members who included Charity Ngilu, Najib Balala, Joe Nyagah and Musalia Mudavadi.

The allegations by CORD provoked the trending hashtag #UhuruFixedRuto, which was quickly countered by #RailaAbandonedRuto.
