The price of Super Petrol has gone down by Sh9.36 a litre while that of Diesel and Kerosene has been increased to Sh2.and Sh3.49 respectively in a new review by the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), which will be in force from October 15th to November 14th 2015.

“This was a consequence of the average landed cost of imported Super Petrol decreasing by 18.86% from US$ 695.68 per ton in August 2015 to US$ 564.47 per ton in September 2015. On the other hand, the average landed cost of imported Diesel during the period increased by 5.78% from US$ 492.92 per ton to US$ 521.43 per ton. “Read part of the statement by ERC.

ERC maintained that it was an offence for petroleum marketing companies and dealers to sell furl above the prices published by the commission, and urged consumers to be vigilant in reporting non-compliant retailers adding that the offence attracts a liable fine of up to Sh 1 million and or the withdrawal of the operating license.
