HARAMBEE STARS WOES AHEAD OF RETURN LEG AGAINST CAPE VERDE

Harambee Stars preparation woesThe Kenya football national team is scheduled to play Cape Verde today at 10pm Kenyan time in a return match after winning the first leg by a single goal putting them in a favorable spot to qualify for the group stages of the World Cup qualifier.

Unfortunately for the Stars, there efforts have been interfered with delays in allowances, reimbursements and also delayed flight to Cape Verde. The management has again disappointed though not surprisingly as this has been the story for a long time where football and the national team is concerned. Reports from BBC were that the team plane was refueling in Nigeria today just few hours from their game against Cape Verde.

Earlier on today, Football Kenya Federation (FKF) chairman Sam Nyamweya was grilled by CID over Harambee Stars delayed trip to Cape Verde. The FKF chairman voluntarily reported to the station after officers visited his home for a statement but did not find him. The officers also questioned Sports ministry Principal Secretary Richard Ekai and two other ministry officials.

There is yet an official explanation for the delayed departure from FKF officials and the national team officials.

Kenya needs at least a draw to reach the group stages of the World Cup qualifiers and it’s the hope of many Kenyans that the Stars can overcome their woes and finish off the job.
