Harambee Stars lose to Cape Verde after long travel

Fatigued Harambee Stars stepped into the pitch to face Cape Verde just 4 hours after arriving at the country having traveled for 22 hours.

Despite the long drama that saw them make three stop overs, the players fought hard against Cape Verde but it wasn’t enough to see them through to the next stage.

The Stars needed just a draw of any kind to qualify having carried a 1-0 advantage from the first leg. Cape Verde scored the first goal in the dying minutes of the first half through Heldon Ramos free kick.

Kenyans had no option but to look for an away goal but all the attempts were fruitless. Heldon scored again in the 52nd minute and made it harder for the Stars to make a comeback.

One of the Harambee Stars players voiced his frustration on the social media complaining of the mistreatment they received from the management.

Kenyans have been calling for the resignation of the FKF chairman Sam Nyamweya with his officials for poor management and corruption allegations facing his office.
