Once again President Uhuru Kenyatta is ahead of Opposition leader, Raila Odinga in the latest opinion polls by Synovate Ipsos.

41 per cent of Kenyans feel that the president has done well in matters economy and that he is better placed to handle issues concerning this nation than any other presidential hopeful.

33 per cent of Kenyans felt that Uhuru will stop corruption while Raila came in second with 30 per cent of the votes.

Asked whether Raila should vie for presidency in the next general elections, a collective 61 per cent don’t want him to vie. In details, 35 per cent want him to retire from politics while 26 per cent want him to remain in politics but not to vie for the presidential seat.

As expected, most people who want Raila to quit politics are from the Jubilee side at 60 per cent. 69 per cent of ODM supporters want Raila to remain in active politics and also vie for presidency in the 2017 general elections.

PARTY LOYALTY

73 per cent of the 33 per cent with a CORD MP believed that the legislators had remained steadfast in the coalition, while 13 per cent said their MPs had crossed to Jubilee. 29 per cent of Jubilee supporters under a CORD MP said that their MP may join Jubilee.

71 per cent of CORD supporters said that those who cross to the opposite side would not be voted back, contrary to Jubilee’s 72 per cent who believe they would be voted back.

The survey, was conducted between June 4 and 18 this year with a random sample size of 2,067 respondents.
