World 3000M steeple chase champion, Ezekiel Kemboi, has taken rescinded his retirement decision, saying that he will do it after reclaiming his medal in the 2017 IAAF World championships in London.
Kemboi, who has won the World title a record four times, finished third in the Rio Olympics to the shock of many and much worse but he was later stripped of the bronze medal for a lane infringement.
According to Kemboi, he would have just gone ahead with the retirement plans with the bronze medal but after the turn of events, he “will not retire without a medal”.
“I had opted to retire right after the Olympics only if I had come home with this medal….now I feel that I have to bring back this medal not by protesting again but right on track,” said Kemboi.
“Kemboi is not retired I will be coming to London 2017 to reclaim my medal from France. No limits,” he added.
