Trump wins US election 2016

Donald Trump has officially been elected the 45th president of the United States of America in a historic poll that has stunned the globe.

Trump won the elections by 279 electoral votes out of the minimum 270 the winning candidate ought to have garnered, as Clinton came in second with 218.

Trump won the key battleground states of Florida, Ohio and North Carolina to stay ahead of Hilary Clinton, who had been given an edge by pollsters.

In his acceptance speech, Trump has said that he wanted to “reclaim America’s destiny” and called for unity, saying that he hopes Democrats and Republicans will work together.

Now it’s time for America to bind the wounds of division. To all republicans and democrats and independents across this nation, I say it is time for us to come together as one united people. I pledge to every citizen of our land that I will be a president to all Americans,” Trump said.

“For those who have chosen not to support me in the past, I’m reaching out to you for your guidance and your help, so w can work together and unify our great country. As I’ve said from the beginning, ours was not a campaign, but rather an incredible and great movement made up by millions of hardworking Americans who love their country and want a better and brighter future for themselves and their families. … Working together, we will begin the urgent task of rebuilding our nation and renewing the American dream. … The forgotten men and women of our country will be forgotten no longer.”
