Kenyans have taken to social media to condemn the arrest of KTN news anchor, Joy Doreen Biira, who was arrested by Ugandan police yesterday. The journalist was among five other people arrested for allegedly distributing photos of the Kasese, Uganda attack that left 55 people dead. According to Uganda’s Daily Monitor, Doreen Biira, a Ugandan working with one of Kenya’s top media house, was arrested together with her fiancée at her uncle’s home. Chaos erupted Kasese town in Uganda when royal guards protecting King Charles Wesley Mumbere of the Rwenzururu kingdom attacked patrolling security forces. The Spokesman of Uganda Police has said that Joy Doreen Biira is safe and will be granted bond!
