LSK President Isaac Okero asks police to find missing lawyer Simon Lilan

The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has asked the inspector of  Police Joseph Boinnet ensure thorough investigations are carried out to find missing lawyer Simon Lilan who was reported missing on Monday 9, 2017.

According to the lawyer’s brother, John Talam, he last saw Lilan on the morning of the said date.

“I want to bring to the attention of the nation that my brother Simon Lilan, who is an advocate of the High Court, has been missing since Monday, January 9, 2017,” said Mr. Talam.

Talam further claims that Lilan had expressed fears over his life saying that his claims that the late MP Mark Too WAS assassinated had touched the nerves of some powerful people.

The Eldoret-based lawyer had threatened to block the burial of former nominated MP and demanded an independent probe on the legislature’s death. Lilan had in a sworn affidavit claimed that Mark Too was assassinated and further went ahead to say that he would change his case to seek exhumation if the body was buried without samples being taken for investigations.

Lilan is said to be relative to the late Too who also acted for him on legal matters.

The disappearance of the lawyer reawakens the mysterious disappearance and chilling murder of lawyer Willie Kimani, who was allegedly killed by AP officers together with his client and their taxi driver in July last year.
