Cabinet Secretaries Henry Rotich (Treasury) and Adan Mohammed (Industrialisation) are among up to 70 senior government officials who have been admitted at Nairobi hospital and Kenyatta National Hospital with cholera symptoms. Doctors say the patients have been put in isolation.

Media reports say Rotich was rushed there at midday today after reporting he had diarrhoea.

It also reported that some workers from the  Jacaranda Hotel in Westlands were also infected. Also admitted at Nairobi Hospital is a TV journalist who was reporting the expo that began on Wednesday.

This latest cholera scare comes weeks after several doctors were hospitalised following an outbreak after they attended a workshop at the Weston Hotel in Nairobi.
