Nasa’s strategist David Ndii was released on a Sh 10,000 police bond on Monday evening after the Director Of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Keriako Tobiko ordered his release.

Ndii had been held at the Directorate Of Criminal Investigations (DCI) after he was nabbed by flying squad officers at Leopard Beach Hotel in Diani, was taken to the Milimani law courts on Monday at 2pm but he was not charged and was only locked at the basement cells before he was taken back to the DCI at about 5:30 Pm. His lawyers had earlier on been denied access to him.

The popular economist was charged with incitement to violence.

The DPP further asked the police to do their investigations and forward their inquiries to him.

Nasa leader Raila Odinga has condemned David Ndii’s arrest saying the government was out to intimidate Kenyans fighting for electoral justice and asked his supporters to expect more arrests.

“The people of Kenya will not stop until they finally get the electrol justice to ensure that each and every ballot cast by voters counts,” said Odinga.
