DPP NOORDIN HAJI ORDERS PS LILIAN OMOLL0 TO BE TAKEN BACK TO PRISON

Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji has ordered Public Service and Youth Principal Secretary (PS) Lilian Omollo to be transferred back to Langata Prisons.

The PS has been admitted at the Kenyatta Hospital for a week now since she fainted during a court hearing over the graft charges she’s facing in the latest NYS scandal. The public has criticised the state for according her preferential treatment by faking illness to avoid jail.

Her accounts in KCB and Equity Banks are also some of those frozen by the Assets Recovery Agency.

Mrs Omollo together with the National Youth Service Director-General Richard Ndubai are among 22 other suspects implicated in the NYS scam who are to remain in custody pending investigations into the crime after they were denied bail.

Noordin Haji has further recommended for punitive measures to be taken against banks that were used as conduits for corruption.

10 Local Commercial banks have been put on the spot for approving “suspicious” transactions from the suspects charged with the recent National Youth Service (NYS) scandal that has seen about SH 59B lost.

RUARAKA LAND SCAM LOOT STASHED IN MAURITIUS

The DPP, who was speaking before the Senate Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs has also revealed that part of the money in the Ruaraka land saga is stashed in Mauritius, saying about Sh250M is withdrawn every 3 days.
