Jambojet Extends Suspension Of Flights

JamboJet has extended suspension of all domestic flights following the government’s decision to extend the travel restrictions within Nairobi, Mombasa, Kilifi, Kwale and Mandera counties.

The government of Kenya has extended the cessation of movement in and out of Nairobi, Mombasa, Kilifi and Kwale counties for an additional 21 days. In light of this, Jambojet will extend its temporary suspension of operations up to 20th May 2020. We regret to inform our customers and business partners that all the flights for the said period are cancelled with immediate effect,” Jambojet said in a statement.

The airline further encouraged all passengers scheduled to travel in the period of up to 20th May to reconsider e re-scheduling their travel to a later date at no extra cost.

Cessation of Movement

President Uhuru Kenyatta announced a cessation of movement, Nairobi, Mombasa, Kilifi and Kwale counties on April 20th, in an effort to control the spread of Corona virus in the country.

The cessation of movement restricts movement of people in and out of the above counties  but those within the counties are free to carry on with their normal lives in line with the dusk to dawn curfew and other regulations  put up by the government to control COVID-19.
