Sincerely Daisy, a feature film directed by popular actor Nick Mutuma, premiered on Netflix on October 9, making it Kenya’s first feature film to have its premiere on the popular streaming site.
The film, which revolves around the story of “Daisy”, played by Ella Maina, has since been trending on number one in Netflix, in the Top Kenyan Films Category.
Sincerely Daisy premiers on Neflix just weeks after another Kenyan film, Poacher, had its premier on the on-demand video platform, becoming the country’s first short film to premier on Netflix.
Disconnect, by Tosh Gitonga is also coming to Neflix on October 16, 2020.
Plot
Sincerely Daisy revolves around a young girl called Daisy, who seems to have secured her future after excelling in her final year of high school.
Things however, take a turn for the worse when she realizes that her dreams of studying abroad could be shattered because her family cannot afford to pay for it.
Coupled with life’s challenges, this realization sets Daisy off on a downward spiral of unfortunate events that test her relationship with her family, boyfriend, and friends.

The film’s trailer was released on September 2, 2020, building so much anticipation among Kenyans and judging by the feedback shared on social media, Sincerely Daisy has not disappointed.
