Hollywood’s director and actor Tony Goldwyn is in the country for a Pre-production schedule on a new film that is going to be shot on location in Nairobi’s Kibera slums.

The movie, Find Me Unafraid, is based on the true love story of a Kenyan man from Kibera Kennedy Odede and his American wife Jessica Posner, who met in the slum when she was undertaking a charity project.

The film will be an adaptation of Jessica and Kennedy’s  book titled Find Me Unafraid, Newyork’s best seller.

The Odede’s founded a non-profit organisation, Shining Hope for Communities (Shofco), which is one of the biggest charity organisations in Nairobi, serving 250,000 people.

Goldawyn, who features as President Fitz Gerald in the award winning TV series Scandal, is joined by silver screen script writer Jamal Joseph.

The Kenya Film Classification Board CEO Ezekiel Mutua, said the government would support the production.

“KFCB is delighted to host these two Hollywood stars and to support their decision to make the film on Kennedy and Jessica’s love story here in Kenya,” said Mutua.
