Sebastian Migne, Former Harambee Stars Coach

Harambee Stars coach, Sébastien Migne, has quit as head coach of the National team.

According to the Football Kenya Federation (FKF),  Migné’s contract was terminated on a mutual agreement.

“Football Kenya Federation and Harambee Stars Head Coach Sébastien Migné have agreed to terminate the coach’s contract on mutual consent. Consequently, FKF and Migné have agreed on a settlement for the coach, over a period of time.

The Frenchman helped Harambee Stars qualify for the just concluded 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament for the first time in 15 years. It was also under his tenure that the national football team was nominated for the first time in history for the CAF Men’s national team of the year award 2018.

Before he was appointed as Harambee Stars coach in 2018, Migné was the coach of the Democratic Republic of the Congo national under-20 football team.

FKF has been struggling to pay Migne and on two occasions the coach threatened to quit over his delayed salary.

The Cost of Firing Sébastien Migné 

Migne’s three years contract was to run till 2021 and as reported by the Nairobi News FKF would be forced to cough Sh50 million to Harambee Stars coach Sebastian Migne in the event they terminate his contract.

FKF in a statement announcing Migne’sb exit said they had reached an agreement to settle his due over a period of time.
