Police on the Hunt for More Suspects on Businessman Cohen’s Murder

The Director Of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti has said that the police is on the hunt for more suspects, who are reportedly on the run, following the gruesome murder of Dutch businessman Tob Cohen.

Cohen, 69, went missing on July 20 before his decomposing body was found in a septic tank within his compound in Nairobi’s Kitusuru estate, on Friday, September 13.

His Wife Sarah Wairimu has been in police custody and is the primary suspect in the murder of Cohen.

Peter Karanja, the former husband to Gilgil MP Martha Wangari, was also arrested in connection with Cohen’s murder following information that he was in contact with Wairimu in the period Cohen went missing. Wairumu reportedly sent Karaja Sh 40,000  via Mpesa.

“We have two suspects so far and we are going to arrest more. Anybody who was involved in this gruesome murder shall not be spared. But there are more who are involved, not just two,” Kinoti said.

Karanja’s lawyer Ham Lagat has however said that his client was known to Cohen and had a business relationship with the family.

Cohen had lived in Kenya for more than 30 years.
