KCAA Announces Audit On Silverstone Airline

Silverstone Airline

The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority’s (KCAA) Air Accident Investigations Department has launched a probe on Silverstone Air, following a series of safety incidents.

According to KCCA Director,  General Cpt Gilbert Kibe safety and security within the Kenyan airspace remains a paramount priority and the audit on Silverstone Air was being done to establish  the airline’s compliance with current Civil Aviation regulations

“The audit is being performed to determine the level of compliance with the current Civil Aviation regulations and their own company approved manuals and procedures, ”Cpt Gilbert Kibe said.

The probe has been occasioned by two major scares within three weeks.

On Monday, a Silverstone plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Eldoret’s Moi International Airport, after a wheel fell off mid-air after take-off. This comes hot on the heels of another incident at Wilson Airport that left nine passengers injured after another plane with 55 people on board skid off the runway during take-off.
