The world is mourning the legendary Kobe Bryant, who died in a helicopter crash on Sunday together with his daughter Gianna and seven other victims. The tragedy occurred in the hills of Calabasas, California.
The deceased were reportedly traveling to Kobe’s Mamba Sports Academy in Thousand Oaks, California, where he was to coach Gianna’s school basketball team.
Among those dead is a family of three; Orange Coast College baseball coach John Altobelli, 56; John’s daughter Alyssa and wife Keri.
Since he retired from the National Basketball Association in 2016, Bryant had been coaching Gianna’s middle-school basketball team.
Barack Obama: Kobe was a legend on the court and just getting started in what would have been just as meaningful a second act. To lose Gianna is even more heartbreaking to us as parents. Michelle and I send love and prayers to Vanessa and the entire Bryant family on an unthinkable day.
Rich Eisen: I still can’t believe what happened today actually happened. I’m sure
NICHOLAS Trump OSEKO: Death may have taken you away from us, but it could never take your memories away. You will always be in my heart in your own special place. #RIPMamba Kobe Bryant
