Students will have to stay home abit longer following the government’s decision to extend the April School holiday by one more month due to the Corona virus pandemic.

Schools were set to open on May 4, but according to Education CS George Magoha, the re-opening has been extended to June as the government continues to control the spread of COVID-19.

“The government loves all our children and i want to empasis the fact that the past four weeks the children have been on normal vacation, which ends on 4th May this year, and in the interest of the safety and lives of our beloved children, the government has decided to extend school closure by one more month, effective from the sheduled date of opening”, Magoha said.

Learning institutions in the country had been closed in late March, two weeks before the official closing date, after the country recorded it’s first Corona virus cases.

Kenya has at Sunday 26th March recorded a total to 355 Corona virus cases.

The following estates in Nairobi have so far recorded positive COVID-19 cases.
