Didier Drogba - The best EPL player ever?

Have you ever wondered which African player has scored the most goals in the Premier League?

11. Fréderic Kanouté (43)

Kanouté is 11th on the list after managing 43 goals during his spell in England. The Malian started at West Ham, managing 29 goals for them in four seasons, before moving across London to Tottenham where he scored 14 in 60 appearances.

11. Demba Ba (43)

Ba was a hit at Newcastle and scored the bulk of his goals there- 29 to be precise, before he moved north he was at West Ham where he scored seven goals in his only season there and moved to Chelsea in 2012-13 where he only managed to scored seven goals in a two-year spell there.

11. Shola Ameobi (43)

The first of many Nigerians on the list, Ameobi managed a whopping 15 seasons in the Premier League scoring all of his goals with Newcastle during his 14 years at the club.

10. Efan Ekoku (52)

Ekoku spent eight years in the Premier League with Wimbledon and Norwich, scoring 37 goals with the Dons.

9. Kanu (54)

A true Premier League great but still not the highest scoring Nigerian, Kanu won the Premier League twice with Arsenal, and then went on to have spells at West Brom and Portsmouth, scoring a total of 54 goals.

8. Pierre Emerick Aubameyang (55)

Aubameyang managed an impressive 55 goals in just 92 league matches.

7. Riyad Mahrez (58)

Mahrez has been incredible ever since he arrived in the EPL. He is still only 29 so may well move higher up the list. He has won the Premier League twice but has only scored one goal for Manchester City this season.

6. Yaya Touré (62)

The Ivorian spent nine years with Manchester City winning the Premier League three times managing 62 goals during that time.

5. Mohamed Salah (82)

Still playing, Salah has scored more Premier League goals than Eric Cantona and could easily continue to move up the list as he is having a fantastic spell at Liverpool.

4. Saido Mané (88)

Mané is not far ahead of his Liverpool counterpart and has scored his 88 goals whilst at Southampton and Liverpool.

3. Yakubu (95)

The top Nigerian on the list, Yakubu is a Premier League legend and scored his goals for four clubs: Portsmouth, Middlesbrough, Everton, and Blackburn. He last played in 2017 with Coventry and has since retired.

2. Emmanuel Adebayor (97)

Not far ahead of Yakubu, Adebayor scored 97 goals for Arsenal, Manchester City, Tottenham, and Crystal Palace, most of his goals coming with the Gunners.

1. Didier Drogba (104)

Perhaps one of the best players ever to play in the Premier League, Togolese Drogba scored over 100 league goals whilst playing for Chelsea and is the 27th highest Premier League scorer of all time. He won the league four times and the Golden Boot twice.
