Cristiano Ronaldo won the FIFA Ballon d’Or 2013 last night after a stellar performance for Real Madrid becoming the fastest Real Madrid player to score 200 goals for the club in a ratio of more than two goal a game in 2013.
It was an emotional one for Ronaldo as he had to be in the shadows of Lionel Messi who has won it four times in a row. Ronaldo has now won it for the second time the first one in 2008 with Manchester United.
Women World Player of the year went to German goalkeeper Nadine Angerer, who plays in Australia for the Brisbane Roar.
Brazilian football legend Pele was awarded the first ever Ballon d’Or prix d’honneur.
