ORIGI GIVES BELGIUM A WIN, AS DESERT FOXES SWEEP AWAY KOREA
BELGIUM 1-0 RUSSIA
Belgium booked a place in the last 16 round thanks to Divock Okoth Origi’s late goal. The prolific Lille striker, who has Kenyan roots combined well with E. Hazard to give Portugal a win in the dying minutes of the game.
Origi, who turned 19 in April became the youngest Belgium to ever score at the world Cup. He was called in Belgium’s World Cup squad after Christian Benteke got an injury. R. Lukaku has not been impressive in the past two games and was again subbed for Origi.
ALGERIA 4-2 KOREA
The Desert Foxes first World Cup victory since 1982 moved them to second place in the group behind leaders Belgium.
The North Africans have never made it past the group stages but are now on the brink of making history. Yesterday Algeria also went into history books as the first African team to score 4 goals in the World Cup.
WHO WILL JOIN BELGIUM IN THE 2ND ROUND?
