Underdogs Costa Rica beat four time world champions Italy to go through to the second round of the World Cup competition for the first time since 1990.
Bryan Ruiz scored the only goal of the match that marked, as a result, the elimination of England from the World cup. The Costa Rica win also means that Italy and Uruguay will have to battle it out in the last fixture in the group for a qualification spot in the last 16.

France went up 5-0 before the Swiss even threatened the net.

ECUADOR 2-1 HONDURAS
Ecuador came from behind to beat Honduras. The first goal came at the 30th minute when a long ball was hoofed forward towards Carlo Costly who raced to the fore to unleash a low shot that eluded Alexander Dominguez.
It only took four minutes after the opener for Enner Valencia to equalize. In the second half Valencia scored the winner at the 65th minute to give Eduador the three points needed to keep their chances alive for the last 16 qualification.
