Former IPOA Chairman Macharia Njeru Elected LSK Representative To JSC

Mr. Macharia Njeru has been elected as the Male Representative of the Law
Society of Kenya (LSK) to the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).

The former Chairman of the Independent Police Oversight Authority (IPOA)
garnered 2,738 votes to trounce his closest opponent Prof Tom Ojienda (2,545
votes), who was defending his seat.

“Dear Colleagues. I accept the win with humility. I thank you most
sincerely Colleagues for your support and trust in me. I will await the formal
process leading
 to taking office. Be assured I will abide by my
12 point manifesto which I am confident is implementable. Thank you again and
God bless,”
Njeru said.

Mr. Njeru will serve as a commissioner for five years.

Njeru is the managing partner at Macharia-Mwangi & Njeru Advocates.

He is a senior advocate of the High Court and the founding chairman of
IPOA.
