President Uhuru Kenyatta has appointed celebrated writer and TV producer Dorothy Ghettuba as chairperson of the Kenya Film Commission board.
According to the Gazette notice announcing her appointment, Ms. Ghettuba will serve at the KFC board for a period of three years.

Her appointment to chair the Kenya Film Classification board follows her recent appointment by global streaming company Netflix as its manager for International Originals.
Ghettuba takes over from Chris Foot, who has served in the same capacity since 2012.
Established in 2005, the Kenya Film Commission is a state corporation under the Ministry of Information and Communication. Its goal is to create a gateway to economic growth through excellence in film.
