The Republicans presidential candidate for the 2016 US elections, Donald Trump has taken a surprisingly early lead ahead of Hilary Clinton.
Trump has won the key battleground states of Florida, Ohio and North Carolina, a move that also stunned his supporters. So far Trump leads Clinton 244 to 215 in electoral votes and considering the winning candidate needs 270 electoral votes, observers are already pointing at a Trump victory.

The Guardian reports that following Trumps triumph in the key battle states, data from Google Trends showed a spike in searches for “move to Canada” , which saw the Canadian immigration website suffer several outages on Tuesday night.
“The idea of Americans decamping to Canada, where liberal PM Justin Trudeau is in power, if Trump wins has been bubbling along throughout the election,” The Guardian reports.
