Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa has today been remanded in custody until Thursday 22nd October 2020 when she is expected to plead to murder charges over a shooting incidence that left a man dead during the October 2019 Ganda by-election.

According to the Director of Public prosecutions, the remand of Aisha Jumwa is to allow mental assessment and pre bail report to be carried out before plea taking.

Last week Mombasa Regional Head Alloys Kemo approved murder and assault charges against the Malindi MP and her co-accused Geoffrey Okuto Otieno. The two have been detained at Port Police Station in Mombasa County.
