Activist Boniface Mwangi Accuses Governor Mutua of Bombing His House

Activist Boniface Mwangi has accused Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua of sending criminals to “bomb” his house in Lukenya, Machakos County.

According to the activist, armed criminals raided his compound on Wednesday night, harassed the staff on the ground and detonated some explosives at his house, which is still under construction.

The explosives left three big holes around the foundation of the house, which the activist says, has weakened the foundation of the house.

Mwangi, in a video shared on his social media platforms, accused Governor Mutua of being behind the incident, saying he was not afraid of the county chief.

According to Boniface Mwangi, the governor has not been happy with the fact that he has been brandishing photos of musician Juliani and his ex-wife, Lilian Nganga.

Mwangi went ahead to accuse Mutua of being violent against women and a rapist as well, saying he was going to expose him.

Governor Mutua has through his lawyer written to activist Boniface Mwangi, accusing him of defamation and demanding that he pulls down the video that went viral earlier today.

According to Mutua Mwangi’s words were meant to defame him as a leader of good standing and someone who will be seeking the presidency in 2022 and also implicate his business involvements

“These words are defamatory of Governor Alfred Mutua and were meant to libel and defame our client as a duly elected Governor of Machakos County and he is a leader of good standing of repute, and the implications touch on his leadership abilities and qualities of a person seeking to be elected in Kenya as the President in the forthcoming 2022 general election, and implicating his business involvement and trans-world networks in business, singly and in partnership with others.” The letter by Mutua’s lawyer Harrison Kinyanjui reads in part.

Your said defamatory publication was sensationally, falsely, maliciously posted and published further on your Twitter Account and was clearly calculated at lowering the estimation of our client in the eyes of your Twitter followers, Facebook Account followers and readers, both locally and internationally ….”

Mutua and his wife Lilian announced their separation in August this year.

Police have started investigations into the destruction of Mwangi’s house.
