DCI RAIDS NTSA OFFICES

The Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and officers from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) have on Wednesday raided the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) head office in Nairobi’s Upperhill area over fake vehicle registrations.

According to witnesses, offices raided and cordoned off the NTSA HQ, restrained staff inside the premises but allowed members of the public who had gone to seek services out of the compound.

The car used in the Dusit terror attack, which had fake registration documents, is one of the key reasons behind the raid at NTSA and officers from the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit are also said to be at the premises to arrest the staff who facilitated the registration of the cars used by the DusitD2 Hotel terrorists.

According to police reports, the car used by the attackers to access the Dusit D2 complex had similar number plates with another vehicle which was impounded on January 16 in Kitengela, Kajiado County.

Some NTSA bosses have also been reportedly arrested and whisked out the premises.

22 people were killed in the Dusit attack at Riverside. The police said they had killed all four terrorists involved in the attack but several suspects have been arrested and charged in court over the attack after the police cracked a terror cell that planned the execution of the attack.
