Migori governor George Obado has finally been granted bail by high court judge Jessie Lessit on the Murder of Sharon Otieno case.
Obado was released on a cash bail of ksh. 5 Million With two sureties of a similar amount.
The bail is however conditional and Judge Jessie Lessit asked that he surrenders his travel documents. The governor has also been asked not to travel anywhere past 20km in Migori.
Obado’s co-accused, Michael Oyamo and Caspal Obiero have however been denied bond and they will remain in custody. Judge Lessit said prosecution produced enough evidence to deny them bail, though they have the right to appeal.
The Migori governor has spent a month in remand at the Industrial Area prison after he was arrested last month and charged alongside his three aides for the murder of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno, whom he had an affair with.
