“They just started spraying it with bullets.”

Kabete MP George Muchai has been shot dead at Kenyatta Avenue roundabout in Nairobi.

The MP and three others, his driver and two bodyguards died during the early morning incident.

According to the St John Ambulance services who responded to a call of the incident, the unknown assailants were in a Toyota Probox with sealed number plates.

The attackers intercepted the MP’s car before opening fire and killing all the occupants of the MP’s vehicle.

The late MP’s wife and daughter were in a following car and witnessed the attack.

The occupants of the second vehicle said the MP stopped at the roundabout when four people with big guns approached his car and started shooting.

“They just started spraying it with bullets. When we saw that, our driver sped past the other car and when we came back to the scene a few minutes later, all the occupants of the vehicle were dead,” the relative told detectives at the scene.

A newspaper vendor who witnessed the shooting told the police that one of the gunmen who led the shooting had a facemask.
