One person has died and several others left injured after a seven-story building that was under construction collapsed on Friday morning in Barani area, Malindi.
According to Kilifi Police boss Fredrick Ochieng, a search and rescue mission was launched as it was feared an unknown number of people were trapped in the rubble, saying they had already rescued eight people.
Red cross confirmed that nine casualties were rushed to Malindi District Hospital.

Transport on the busy Likoni-Lunga Lunga highway in Kwale County has also been paralyzed after Ramisi River burst its banks earlier today.
