Kenya’s retired president Daniel Arap Moi is alive, contrary to reports from a local blog announcing his death.

“Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi the second President of Kenya has passed on in his sleep in Kabarak home in Nakuru,” read a section of the article.

A close family member to Moi has confirmed to the Kenya Forum that he is indeed very much alive and healthy.

Kenyan blogs have the habit of “killing” political leaders and before this recent rumour; Moi has been killed twice before. Former Cabinet Minister Nicholas Biwott, who served in Moi’s cabinet, has also been killed by journalists before.
