2022 Presidentail candidates Raila Odinga and William Ruto.

In the latest monthly opinion poll conducted by Radio Africa Group (RAG) Raila Odinga has edged into the lead over his main opponent for the presidency, William Ruto. In the poll Odinga recorded support from 47.4 per cent of voters surveyed against Ruto’s 43.4 per cent. This is the first time Oding has led Ruto in the opinion polls in the last two years.

Support for Odinga has risen by 12.3 per cent from 35.1 per cent in RAG’s February poll whereas support for Ruto appears to have dropped from 47.4 per cent in February to 43.4 per cent in March.

RAG surveyed 3,152 respondents between March 7 and 11 across 47 counties. The opinion poll has a margin of error of 1.75 per cent, so the gap between Odinga and Ruto is within that margin.
