Multi-Media University students and Matatu drivers clash

The Hardy Residents Association (HRA) has warned motorists plying Lang’ata and Magadi roads to exercise caution following chaos between the police and students of the Multi Media university, who are demonstrating against rogue matatus that have taken over the route.

“As you are probably aware there has been chaos this morning on Magadi and Langata Roads caused by the Multi Media University Students rioting against the really big nasty bully Matatus that try to control Magadi and Langata Roads.

This is following the death of 4 students on Sunday involving one of those matatus.

There is currently shooting on Magadi Road which is most likely tear gas +/ rubber bullets as police try to control the riots and sections of Magadi Road are blocked with rocks,” read the email alert .

On Sunday, four people died and others injured after a CBD bound matatu from Rongai lost control and overturned on Lang’ata road.

There has been a public cry for the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) to act on the notorious Rongai matatus which are a nuisance and road hazard to other motorists
