2015 KALASHA FILM AND TV AWARDS NOMINEES UNVEILED

The Kenya Film Commission (KFC) unveiled the nominees for this year’s Kalasha awards at IMAX cinema yesterday.
The nominees become the first actors that will enjoy benefits that come with the new Kalasha, which has been revamped into an international film & TV festival  market following a partnership with the KFC and the French Embassy.

The new initiative is aimed at positioning the country as the key hub in stimulating intra-trade & worldwide activities in the film and TV fields in East Africa and is expected to bring together for the first time all players from East Africa under one roof.

KALASHA PARTNERS WITH DISCOP

Kalasha International has also partnered with  DISCOP AFRICA, with the aim of stimulating co-production and distribution opportunities between Eastern, Western and Southern Africa and underscores the critical importance of intra-African trade to develop and strengthen sustainable content production and distribution industries across the Continent.

“On the 26th-30th October we have the film festival and market at the Kenyatta International Convention Center ( KICC), featuring Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Ethiopia and the indian ocean islands of Mauritius and Madagascar but within that week we also have two days (28&29) also at the KICC were going to have a conference  market,” said KFC CEO Liz Chogoti.

Participants at the Kalasha International Film market will get opportunities to among other things pitching sessions, content buyers, workshops and conferences.
