President Uhuru Kenyatta given award for ‘Best President in Africa’

It’s been a good week for Kenyan men who led by President Uhuru Kenyatta have been awarded for being top of their game in their respective fields.

Barely a day after a survey ranked Kenyans as the least promiscuous in Africa, President Uhuru Kenyatta was yesterday crowned the best president in Africa and was awarded the education & leadership award by the All Africa Students Union. (AASU).

The award was totally deserved judging by the reactions of Kenyans on social media, who took to Twitter under the trending topic ‘Africa’s President’ to pass their congratulatory messages to President Uhuru.

The award recognized Uhuru’s notable leadership style and his ability to build census locally and abroad. He was also acknowledged for his efforts in changing policies and providing solutions to issues that are most pressing to Kenyans.

In 2013, a survey by Gallup listed Uhuru as the third best performing president in Africa after Mali’s Ibrahim Boubacar and Ian Kahama of Botswana.

Being Kenya’s first youngest President, Uhuru ascended to the throne with all his youthfulness and has absolutely demystified the presidency. His down to earth leadership style continues to endear him to Kenyans even as critics say it’s PR. He continues to make headlines for many firsts and great impressions that always melt hearts of many a Kenyans. If it’s not warmly embracing the first lady at the finish line of her popular Beyond Zero marathon, he’s pictured chilling out on the ground, having nyama choma with Maasai elders. In another occasion he’s buying a bottle of soda from a road side kiosk or taking selfies with pupils in state house.

Lastly, did you know that Uhuru has also been crowned as Africa’s 1st tweeting president? Yes and in 2013 the Guardian Newspaper named him among Africa’s top 10 tweeting politicians.

As the word on the street goes; we just have a cool president.
