Strata, Kenya’s thriller film did actually premier last week on Friday as planned and regardless of the low turnout, which was quite unusual for a premier, the movie was great.
The story is quite captivating and the suspense in the film is just on another level and the use of subtle humour which comes out naturally is also quite commendable. The movie also brings to the fore in a comical way the issue of ‘kitu kidogo’/bribery in Kenya and how it’s just the best way to get things done around here.
The sound effects were simply amazing as one fan exclaimed after the screening;
“It was a great movie. What I liked the most though was the musical score. Best soundtrack I’ve heard from a Kenyan movie,” Zakariya Adam Salaat.
Conspicuously missing in action was the leading cast and the film director Cajetan Boy was quick to say that his cast had really disappointed him on that day.
