Missionary Pleads Guilty To Sexual Abuse At a Children Home In Kenya

Gregory Dow pleads guilty to sexually abusing minors in Kenya

Gregory Dow (61) has pleaded guilty, in a US court, to charges of sexually abusing four girls at an orphanage he and his wife ran in Boito, Bomet County a few years ago.

Dow, who is now facing a 16-year prison term, reportedly committed the crimes between 2013 and 2017.  He was charged with sexually abusing four girls, two of them were 11 years of age, one was 12, and one was 13.

He will be formally sentenced on September 29.

Gregory Dhow evaded arrest from the Kenyan authorities and took off to the US and The Dow Family’s Children’s Home, which was established in 2008, was shut down in 2017.

He was arrested by FBI agents and local police in July 2019.

Cases of foreign “missionaries” sexually molesting minors at orphanages in the country have been too rampant in the country thanks to corrupt government officers.

The case of Gregory Dow is particularly disturbing and could have been avoided if only someone did their job right, considering that he was a renown sexual offender in the US. Dow had pleaded guilty in 1996 to sexual assault in the US state of Iowa, only for him to come to Kenya and be accorded all the right documents to set up a children’s home.
