According to data by PriceSpy, top mobile phone manufacturers reduce prices of new devices by up to 40 per cent within three months of their launch in the market.

“Our price history data tells us that prices on new handsets generally drop after about three months,” said Olof Karp, PriceSpy country manager.

Samsung Galaxy Prices Drop Significantly

The launch price of the Samsung galaxy S5 and Galaxy S7 for instance dropped by 40.6% and 38.3% respectively. The Galaxy S8, which retailed at £689 when it was released last year, fell by 25.8% barely three months into its launch thus the fans that waited saved £200.
