Popular artist Anto Neosoul has threatened to sue a night club in Nairobi’s Westland’s for reneging on a contract.
The artist, in the demand letter drafted by his lawyers, is asking the management of Afro Club to pay him Sh 50,000 owed to him for Influencer Marketing within seven days, failure to which he would institute legal charges over the matter.
“We hereby give you seven days to pay our client all monies due to him and our legal fees of Sh 12,000 failure to which we have strict mandatory instructions from our client to institute legal proceedings against you in a court of law,” the letter by James Makori Advocate reads in part.
Fellow artists have rallied behind Anto Neosoul under the now infamous popular hashtag #PayArtistKe saying its about time people respected their hustle.
#PayArtistsKe campaign kicked off in 2016 and was an outcry by artists to TV stations, independent producers and brands that owed them money.
#PayArtistsKe is a plea by passionate hardworking Kenyans who work everyday of the year, but get paid eventually, once in that year,or never,” read a tweet from the Kenya Actors Guild.
