That Kenya’s TV and film industry is emerging is without a doubt and this year, eight local productions have been nominated for the 2015 Zanzibar International Film Festival (ZIFF). ZIFF is East Africa’s largest film, music and arts festival, which seeks to bring new talents together from all over the world for a Zanzibar Tamasha!

The 2014 Kalasha Award-Winning feature film, Strength of a Woman, which premiered last month, is among the nominees. Below is a list of the local films that been nominated for ZIFF 2015.

Films for the Zanzibar International Film Festival were submitted based on a yearly theme and his year’s theme is Waves and Visions of Hope”. The festival shall open on July 18, 2015 with the Golden Globe-winning civil rights film, SELMA.
