The future of technology and TV in particular has taken a new twist, or rather a new bend… Thanks to the likes of Samsung and LG, you can now use the word ‘bend’ when describing a TV set.

Samsung have unveiled an 85 inch (216cm) LED (light-emitting diode) TV that allows the curvature of its screen to be adjusted by remote control. LG has a smaller version (77 inch) that is based on the OLED (organic light-emitting diode) technology.

Though it’s just a prototype and Samsung has not revealed any plans to put its Bendable TV on sale to the general public, the firm suggests that the curved screen can enhance the viewing experience.

Owners would be allowed to determine how bent the screens should be depending on how many people are watching them and how far away they are sitting. You would even be able to leave it flat against the wall when not using.

So who will have the bragging rights to be the first firm to offer its bendable TV? We’ll wait and see. But the Kenya Forum also asks, why would you want a TV screen that bends?
