Teachers and students of Tot High School, Baringo county have been left injured after Pokot bandits attacked their bus in Kerio Valley on Thursday night.

A driver was killed on the spot while 10 students and 2 teachers were critically injured.

Interior CS Fred Matiang’i has ordered for the Principal of the school to be arrested following the last night’s attack for violating guidelines on school transportation, which bar school buses transporting students from being operational after 6 pm.

The attack reportedly occurred at 10 pm while the students were returning from a school trip.

Matiang’i  has also said that he will be moving to the National Security Council to have the Pokot warriors and the Pokot movement declared an outlawed organization.

“We will categorize them the same way we categorize MRC and other terror groups in the country. This means that we are going to apply a new level of force and fire to wipe out the group. Because this is no longer about cattle rustling,”  Matiang’i said.
