Jaguar pleads not guilty in car crash case that killed 2. The musician-turned-activist was involved in a deadly car crash.
Artist, turned politician Charles Kanyi, popularly known as ‘Jaguar’ has been today arraigned in court in Kirinyaga County to answer to charges of reckless driving leading to the death of two young men in an accident on the Makutano-Sagana Road.
Jaguar pleaded “not guilty” to the charges and was released on a Sh50, 000 bond.
The accident, which occurred two weeks ago elicited controversy after witnesses maintained that it was a woman driving the car and not Jaguar as the musician claimed.
The deceased, Joseph Maingi and Mugo Abdalla were riding on a boda boda when the accident occurred and died on the spot.
Road carnage has been on the rise lately and over the weekend, six members of the same family died following an accident along the eastern bypass.
The six were part of a group that was coming from a relative’s graduation party in Kakamega County.
Nairobi county rep, Milicent Mugadi also got involved in a fatal accident at Gilgil that left four people who were traveling in the same car with her dead.
