Kenyans have taken to social media to give a backlash to the judiciary following an expose by NTV that revealed that the infamous quack doctor Mugo Wa Wairimu, who made headlines in 2015 after he was exposed for drugging and raping his clients was back in his filthy trade.
The NTV investigative story by Dennis Okari, which ran under the title,
#QuackClinic revealed that Mugo Wa Wairimu was once again operating yet another clinic at Nairobi’s low-income Kayole estate years after he was charged with rape.
In the expose’ Mugo Wairimi is seen performing an evacuation on a young woman and he even leaves her on the table to interview a man who had come for a job interview. The quack doctor interviews the job seeker in the same room as the woman turns on the bed in pain.
Shockingly, Mugo Wairimu tasks the job seeker with the work of removing a placenta, he had been trying to remove from the woman’s uterus.
The quack doctor uses a mobile phone flashlight to get a view of the woman’s cervix and can even be seen kissing the patient.
Mugo Wairimu was arrested and charged in 2015 with various offenses linked to operating an illegal clinic in Githurai 44, Nairobi and raping a sedated woman but he was later released after being granted a Sh2 million bond with a surety of the same amount.
According to the prosecutor, on November 1, 2014, at Prestige Healthcare Clinic in Nairobi, Mugo raped the woman after giving her four tablets of an unknown drug.
Below are some of the views shared on twitter under the hashtag
Robert ALAI: Victims of Mugo Wa Wairimu who were in witness protection were exposed by Jacinta Nyamosi and Inspector Andolo Munga of DCI. The people who were supposed to protect victims and arrested culprits turned on me and the victims.
Brian K.:The poor and underprivileged always pay the price for a government that doesn’t seem to care about anything more than taxing them or getting their votes.
King Fred Asira: What corruption is Jubilee fighting if a quack masquerading as a doctor is allowed to rape women, get exposed twice and still walks free intimidating his victims?
Waitimù: When we have a failed system, the society is condemned! From people consuming poisonous sugar, endless road accidents due to poorly enforced traffic rules, toxic maize in our stores, imported fake fish now to this!
Okinyi_Marinda10: Mugo Wairimu’s
#QuackClinic just shows how lightly we take grave matters in Kenya…the media is oppressed, we need to know how he was set free, we need to know his relatives helping him, we need to know why the DCI didn’t follow up on a released convict.

#QuackClinic when the moral fabric of a nation is in tatters, you get people like Mugo Wairimu operating with impunity. We demonize saints and canonize thieves. It begins with corruption and the inappropriate content media feeds our kids with for money. May God help Kenya.
